Toledo Trucking Association Scholarship
Student academic requirements and status for applying for Toledo Trucking Association Annual Scholarship:
- Full time student at The University of Toledo
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
- Pursuing a four (4) year degree with summer internship
- Student must be enrolled in the College of Business Administration pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management
- Student must be at a junior / senior level in North West Ohio (Toledo Metro Area). Note: A sophomore candidate can qualify if they reach junior status by spring term during the scholarship year. Example spring 2011 term
- Two (2) letters of recommendation, one of which must come from a faculty member at your current university
- Winning scholarship candidate must attend Toledo Trucking Association Annual Scholarship Luncheon held on the first Thursday in April. Example April 7, 2011
As the student views criteria, we also felt it important applicant has an understanding philosophically of The Toledo Trucking Associations agenda for offering a monetary award of this magnitude to a deserving student within the College of Business.
- Scholarship goal: promote the trucking industry, enhance credibility and create a positive image for the Toledo Trucking Association and our community involvement.
- Scholarship purpose: Provide training to qualified students pursuing a four (4) year degree targeted with keeping our “Best and Brightest” engaged towards shipping, logistics, or career objective within the trucking industry.
- Annual Scholarship: Annual contributions to the University Foundation rather then a trust. Scholarship to be administered by the Foundation.
- Scholarship is renewable; however student applicant must reapply annually.
- Annual Scholarship value $5,000. Scholarship to be direct deposited against student’s tuition.
- Designated TTA person(s) responsible for scholarship selection process – TTA Scholarship Committee to be the lead University contact with oversight given by the Board of TTA.
- Selection criteria: candidates selected based on academic qualifications. If several candidates are qualified, economic need may also be considered.
* Please note there will also be an internship award with this scholarship with one of the member companies of TTA. Please make sure you have your updated resume and BOTH letters of recommendation sealed and delivered by the deadline to the assistant dean of COBI, Dr. Teribeth Gordon Moore
